Choosing the Right Diamond Engagement Ring

Diamond engagement rings – there is no more important shopping trip you’ll take in your life, but there’s also no shopping excursion that will prove more difficult. There are literally thousands of choices on the market. Unless she’s been pretty specific with you, how do you know exactly which one to select? It’s not quite as easy as you’d imagine. These tips can help you sift through the diamond engagement rings and land on one she’s certain to love.

·      Set Your Budget First: Rings come in all shapes and sizes, and so do the price tags that come with them. Understanding exactly what you can spend before you ever begin to shop is the best way to select a ring that she’ll like and that you feel good about.

·       The Ring: At every step of the way, you’ll encounter choices, and one of the first you must make is the ring itself. Platinum is a good choice, because it’s enduring and will last a lifetime. Gold, though, is far more traditional, and it tends to cost less than platinum. Silver is on the rise in popularity, however. Think about what she might find most beautiful as well as what she can wear. If you need a hypoallergenic metal, this is a good time to factor that in.

·      The Stones: Diamond engagement rings mean choosing the diamond or diamonds that will be included, so you’ll need to think about the diamond shape, size, and color among other things. Go with something that hits on both beautiful and affordable.

As you work to select from the diamond engagement rings you’ve seen, take the time to visit with DiamondRocks at www.diamondrocks.co.uk. The perfect way to get the ring she’ll love, it’s the only way to select jewellery she’ll have to say yes to.

After all, you will be the one that will be wearing the ring for the rest of your life so you should get what you want.

So how should you go about getting the engagement ring you want?

1. Ask a friend for help. If you think he’s about to propose to you, perhaps you may want to get your girlfriends involved. Perhaps she can guide him in the direction of a diamond that captures your eye. She will be able to share with him your style in jewellery and what you like and don’t like about certain pieces.

2. Use social media. You can give him some advice and tips about your favourite type of diamond jewellery including engagement rings by posting pictures of pieces you like through your social media accounts. Surely he will be checking out what you have to say on Facebook, Pinterest and even Twitter- so get ‘social’.

3. Take him shopping.  You can always go shopping with him, especially if the engagement is not going to be a surprise.  This way the both of you will be able to pick out the perfect engagement ring, one that’s within his budget and one that will leave your speechless!

How diamonds are naturally formed

Diamond miners and prospectors from around the world are always looking for the perfect spot to find their next fortune, a place where they can search through the earth’s crust to find a stunning natural diamond. But just how are diamonds created in the first place? Geologists believe that diamonds are formed in the mantle and brought up to the earth’s surface by deep volcanic activity. Diamonds are created by extreme temperatures and pressures from within the earth’s crust (approximately 150 KM below) at 1050 degrees Celsius.
Once the diamonds are formed and the eruptions occur they are able to come up to the earth’s surface in what is called the lamproite pipes and kimberlite pipes where miners are able to discover these extremely valuable stones. Once a diamond is unearthed, they are then sold to a jeweller where they are cut, polished, and created into the stunning diamond jewellery like diamond engagement rings, diamond necklaces, diamond rings, and other diamond jewellery pieces that you are able to purchase!
